Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Buana Farma undergoes an initial evaluation by the Editor to ensure that it fits the journal’s focus and scope, and that it follows the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines.

If the manuscript passes the preliminary screening, it will be forwarded to one reviewer for scientific evaluation using a blind peer review system, in which the reviewer’s identity is kept confidential from the author.

The review process evaluates the originality, clarity, research methodology, validity of data, relevance of findings, and overall contribution to the development of pharmaceutical and health sciences.

Upon completion of the review, the reviewer provides recommendations to the editor, which may include:

1. Accept without revision,
2. Accept with minor revisions,
3. Accept with major revisions, or
4. Reject.

The editor will then send the reviewer’s comments and recommendations to the author for revision within a specified time. Authors are required to resubmit the revised manuscript along with a detailed response to the reviewer’s comments through the OJS system.

The review process for each manuscript typically takes around 1–4 weeks, depending on the extent of revision and the completeness of the author’s response.

If the editor determines that the manuscript requires improvement before being sent to a reviewer, the manuscript may be returned to the author for preliminary revision. Manuscripts that are rejected by Jurnal Buana Farma cannot be resubmitted to the journal in subsequent issues.
