Abstract

This research employs the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) method as an approach to strengthening students’ digital literacy. The urgency of this study arises from the low level of students’ ability to understand digital communication ethics and civic values when interacting in online spaces. The pre-test results involving 60 students indicated that most were in the moderate to low category, particularly in evaluating information and using ethical language. Observations further showed that students tended to share information without verification and often used improper language in digital interactions. The intervention was carried out through IBL-based learning reinforcement that integrates polite language practice (Indonesian Language) and awareness of rights and responsibilities as digital citizens (Civics Education). The post-test results revealed a significant increase in critical thinking, information verification, and ethical communication, with the majority achieving a good category. These findings confirm that the collaboration between language values and civic education in the IBL model is effective in shaping digital literacy that is critical, ethical, and responsible.
