Reorienting Citizenship Education Towards a Diversity-Based Global Citizenship Education

This study aims to analyze the urgency of citizenship education based on global diversity values (kebhinekaan global) as a form of implementing global citizenship learning in shaping excellent and globally competent citizens. The cultivation of global citizenship values is viewed as a manifestation of global literacy that contributes to national awareness and global responsibility. This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method through library research. The study focused on strengthening the values of global diversity as an effort to prepare citizens to actively participate in the global community. The finding indicate that internalization of global diversity values provides positive feedback in echancing civic understanding and play a strategic role in shaping adaptive ad competent citizens who contribute to global civilization. This study is expected to broaden public perspevtives on openes to the impacts of globalization and serve as a medium for reflection and self-actualization toward becoming individual of strong character and integrity.
