Abstract

This study aims to examine more deeply and describe the effect of the discussion method on mathematics on the mathematical creative thinking ability of fourth grade students at SD Negeri Sukaharja II. The research design used in this study is a quasi-experimental design. This study will create an experiment with and without the application of the discussion method in fourth grade mathematics at SD Negeri Sukaharja II. Teachers and writers work together to find solutions to solve problems in the classroom. The data collection technique used is observation. documentation and tests. The results of the study are based on the results of the t test that has been carried out, obtained tcount = 7.195 while ttable with df (35 + 35 = 70) at a significant level of 5%, namely 1.666, thus tcount > ttable (7.195> 1.666) which means the hypothesis (Ha) in This research was accepted, namely that there was an effect of the use of the discussion method on the mathematical creative thinking skills of 4th grade elementary school students at SDN Sukaharja II, Teluk Jambe Timur District, Karawang Regency. This proves that the use of the discussion method has improved the mathematical creative thinking ability of grade 4 students and students are more enthusiastic in providing understanding thinking to solve a problem.
