Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning motivation and learning concentration on the mathematical understanding of fifth grade students at SDN Tanjungpura-Tanjungmekar. The method in this study uses quantitative methods. The population used in this study were all Class V SDN students in the Tanjungpura-Tanjungmekar cluster. By taking a sample of 10% of the members of the population, a sample of 84 students was obtained. Data collection techniques in this study used Mathematical Comprehension Tests, Learning Motivation Questionnaires and Learning Concentration. Data analysis techniques to test the hypothesis in this study using statistical calculations of product moment correlation. The results of the validity test of the Mathematical Comprehension test obtained 9 instruments which were declared valid out of 10 instruments, learning motivation obtained 20 instruments which were declared valid from 20 instruments and learning concentration obtained 19 instruments which were declared valid from 20 instruments tested. The results of the regression test obtained an R Square value of 73.9%, there was a significant influence between Learning Motivation and Learning Concentration on Mathematical Understanding simultaneously or simultaneously. It is obtained that rcount > rtable, namely 0.786 > 0.05, the hypothesis is accepted for the variable Learning Motivation, for Learning Concentration rcount > rtable, namely 0.784 > 0.05, the hypothesis is accepted, so it can be assumed that the higher the Learning Motivation and Learning Concentration, the more also high understanding of Mathematics.
