Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the application and impact of the forum group discussion (FGD) method as an effort to reduce addiction to online games in grade VI students at SDN Tanjung Pura V. This study is classified as a qualitative research. Theresource persons used in this study consisted of 1 homeroom teacher for grade VI and 1 Guidance and Counseling teacher at SDN Tanjungpura V. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. Analysis of the data in this study using triangulation. The results showed that the implementation of FGD was carried out in the classroom by dividing into two groups, namely groups of students who were identified as addicted to online games and students who were not addicted to online games, by providing themes related to online game addiction which students would discuss later. The impact felt by this FGD on class VI students was that it was easier to absorb material information, students' attitudes of responsibility towards assignments were more developed and students were more open to activities in school programs.
