Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of social interaction with emotional intelligence in fifth grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative correlation method with a simple paradigm design. The population used in this study is public elementary school students in cluster II, Purwasari sub-district, totaling 399 students. By taking a sample of 10% of the members of the population then the sample can be 80
students. Data collection techniques through social interaction questionnaires and emotional intelligence . The data analysis technique to test the hypothesis is done by calculating the static product moment. The results of the validity test of social interaction and emotional intelligence were declared valid. The results of the normality test obtained a significant value of 0.315 <0.05 which stated that the social interaction variable with emotional intelligence was normally distributed. The results of the linearity test show that the relationship between
social interaction and emotional intelligence has an independent relationship, which is known to have a significant linearity value of 0.00 < 0.05 and a significant deviation from linearity 0.186 > 0.05 so that the relationship between social interaction variables and emotional intelligence is said to be linearly significant.
