Abstract

This study aims to describe the causative factors, the location of student errors, and the teacher's efforts in overcoming student Darawolong I, Purwasari District. This research method is a descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection technique in this study used the methods of observation, tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this research are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion verification. errors in solving fractional operations story problems in fourth grade mathematics learning at SDN The results of this study indicate that the subject makes mistakes due to various factors, namely 1) students often forget to write conclusions in writing answers, 2) students are not able to perform arithmetic operations with different denominators and the same denominator, 3) students cannot determine the fraction formula, and 4) difficulty understanding the problem in the problem. so that there are errors that lie in aspects of writing answers, aspects of process skills, aspects of transformation and aspects of understanding the problem. For this reason, the teacher can try to minimize the occurrence of errors in solving arithmetic operations story problems by exemplifying in detail the steps in determining what is known, asked, formulas, how to calculate and how to make conclusions. The teacher can also repeat in explaining the material so that students can be sure to understand the concept of this story and fraction problem. In this study, the researcher gave advice to students and teachers during the mathematics learning process, especially in the matter of counting fractions operations and questions in the form of stories, they must often repeat the material and increase practice questions to minimize errors, because the story questions of arithmetic fraction operations are very important for learned and mastered in order to solve problems that occur in everyday life. Thus the learning objectives will be achieved properly and the quality of human resources in Indonesia will increase which can form a high civilization.
