Abstract

This study aims to determine how the experimental method in learning science in class V at SD SARTIKA Kotabaru District. This research is a type of qualitative research. The population used in this study were all 5th grade students of SD SARTIKA, Kotabaru District, which amounted to 17 students. By taking a sample of 4 students from members of the population. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation to homeroom teachers and grade 5 students. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The results showed that using the experimental method in science learning about temperature and heat material had been carried out in 2 meetings. The first meeting, researchers conducted observations and interviews with homeroom teachers. Then at the second meeting the researchers conducted an experimental experimental method in the classroom to the students about the types of heat transfer. There are several obstacles encountered in learning science at SD SARTIKA, especially on temperature and heat material, namely: students are less active in learning, students find it difficult to understand the material because they need concrete evidence, there are still many students' daily test scores that are still below the KKM. The way that can be taken to solve this problem is that the teacher uses the experimental method in the learning process in the classroom so that students can easily catch and understand the lessons explained by the teacher. This is what teachers can do to students so that students can easily understand and capture the learning given and explained by the teacher and so that the daily test scores of students in science learning can exceed the KKM.
