Abstract

ABSTRACT

Competition in the free market era is increasing so companies need to continue to increase their production output to be able to compete. As chocolate producer, a company also needs to pay attention their quality of products to maintain its business. These production results include the packaging of the products. In this research, analysis was carried out using Six Sigma with the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improvement and Control (DMAIC) stages. Research was conducted on defects in the secondary packaging of chocolate for the production period 14 – 31 August 2023. There are three types of defects in the secondary packaging chocolate, namely torn, printed, and dirty. The Pareto diagram shows that the biggest potential failure is torn and print defects which reach 95% (more than 80%). Based on research on defects in secondary packaging of chocolate for the production period 14 – 31 August 2023, it is known that the percentage of defects is 2,13%, the DPO value is 0,00709088, the DPMO value is 7.090,88, and has a sigma level of 4, which means it is on average. industrial average in USA. The estimated loss that the company can avoid when the sigma value can be increased to 6-sigma is Rp1.376.000,00.
