Abstract

The Ta'Lim Assembly is a forum for religious activities that are carried out at the mosque
regularly with relatively large congregations with the aim of increasing religious knowledge and
building Islamic character. Pilgrims who come regularly to Islamic study activities have different
levels of motivation. They came because of their perception of the presenter Ustadz and also because
of the study material he delivered. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between
perceptions of Ustadz and motivation to participate in the study. This research is quantitative
correlational, with a non-probability sampling technique involving 100 congregational subjects studied
by the Ta'Lim Council in South Jakarta. The measuring instrument used is the perception measuring
scale with 34 valid items and the reliability coefficient (α) = 0.915, and the motivation measuring
instrument scale with 28 valid items and the reliability coefficient (α) = 0.924. The results obtained sig
(p) of 0.000, (p <0.05) with a coefficient value (r) of 0.489. This means that the hypothesis is accepted,
that is, there is a significant positive relationship between the perception of Ustadz and motivation to
participate in the study at the Ta'Lim Council in South Jakarta. The contribution of perception to
Ustadz is 23.9% which affects motivation to participate in the study. The congregation's perception of
the presenter Ustadz is more positive (51%) and the congregation's motivation to take part in the study
is more high (54%). Another finding is the high motivation to come to Islamic studies because of the
consideration of the material presented by the Ustadz and more because of the support from his partner.

Majelis Ta’Lim merupakan wadah kegiatan keagamaan yang dilaksanakan di Masjid secara
rutin dengan jamaah yang relatif banyak dengan tujuan menambah pengetahuan agama serta
membangun karakter akhlak Islami. Jamaah yang datang secara rutin pada kegiatan kajian Islami
memiliki tingkatan motivasi yang berbeda-beda. Mereka datang karena persepsinya terhadap Ustadz
pemateri dan juga karena materi kajian yang disampaikannya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui
hubungan antara persepsi terhadap Ustadz dengan motivasi mengikuti kajian. Penelitian ini bersifat
kuantiatif korelasional, dengan teknik nonprobability sampling yang melibatkan 100 Subjek jamaah
kajian Majelis Ta’Lim di Jakarta Selatan. Instrument alat ukur yang digunakan ialah skala alat ukur
persepsi dengan 34 aitem valid dan koefisien realibilitas (α) = 0,915, serta skala alat ukur motivasi
dengan 28 aitem valid dan koefisien realibilitas (α) = 0,924. Didapatkan hasil sig (p) sebesar 0.000, (p
< 0,05) dengan nilai koeffisiensi (r) sebesar 0,489. Artinya hipotesis diterima, yaitu terdapat hubungan
positif signifikan antara persepsi terhadap Ustadz dengan motivasi mengikuti kajian di Majelis Ta’Lim
di Jakarta Selatan. Kontribusi persepsi terhadap Ustadz sebesar 23,9% yang mempengaruhi motivasi
mengikuti kajian. Persepsi jamaah terhadap Ustadz pemateri lebih banyak yang positif (51%) dan
motivasi jamaah dalam mengikuti kajian lebih banyak yang tinggi (54%). Temuan lainnya adalah
motivasi tinggi untuk datang ke kajian Islami karena pertimbangan materi yang dibawakan Ustadz
serta lebih banyak karena dukungan dari pasangan.
