Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning motivation of grade V students at SDN Bengle I. This research is a type of qualitative research . The respondents used in this study were 1 class V teacher and grade V students of SDN Bengle I. Data Analysis Techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion verification . Data collection techniques through data triangulation are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the observations and interviews that the researchers have conducted with teachers and students can be said that the learning motivation of grade V students in social studies subjects at SDN Bengle I. Based on the observations that researchers made by teachers of SDN Bengle I, there are still teachers who do not understand various strategies to increase student motivation in learning so that only with the lecture and discussion method they use, and in the discussion the teacher also only divides students into groups and gives tasks to them without any further action. Even so, class V teachers at SDN Bengle I have tried to give their best to achieve an effective and efficient learning process. Although skills are still needed from teachers, therefore teachers of SDN Bengle I conduct trainings to be able to develop their professionalism as professional teachers by developing various kinds of learning methods.
