Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness and factors that influence natural-based learning in the fifth grade students of SDN Karangligar II. This research is classified as a qualitative descriptive research. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observations and documentation which were analyzed using the Triangulation Technique. The results showed, the effectiveness of learning based on the environment, seen in the impact of the ease and enthusiasm of students in understanding the material, in contrast to learning that only uses textbooks and pictures in the textbook, students tend to be easier to observe both the anatomy
of plants such as the function of small leaves. and width, types of plant roots and so on, with great enthusiasm and a fun way of learning. The influencing factors are divided into supporting and inhibiting factors, supporting factors for the availability of facilities and infrastructure such as a learning garden filled with flowers and ornamental plants and competent teacher competencies. Inhibiting factors, restrictions that occur as a result of the application of strict health protocols that limit interaction between students and the surrounding environment, and the absence of visits to areas or places that support natural-based learning around.
